Volleyball Recap: Virgin Valley's Winning Streak Snapped at Nine Games

After a string of nine wins, Virgin Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Boulder City Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

While Virgin Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-22.

Virgin Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Muniz and Destry Tobler. Muniz had 15 digs, while Tobler had eight kills, five digs, and one block. Tobler is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 24 games he's played.

Virgin Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Boulder City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Virgin Valley is taking a road trip to challenge Somerset Academy Losee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boulder City, they will welcome Moapa Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
