Baseball Recap: Redmond Has No Trouble Against Liberty

After losing to Liberty the last time they met, Redmond decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Redmond blew past Liberty 8-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted against the Patriots since March 31, 2017.

Jay Heath was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Redmond's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Leo Ciuca was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Heath wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Redmond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Redmond's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Redmond will head out to challenge Issaquah at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Inglemoor at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
