Baseball Game Preview: Alamo Heights Mules vs. Walnut Grove Wildcats

The Alamo Heights Mules will venture away from home to challenge the Walnut Grove Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Alamo Heights is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Marcus on Thursday. They came up short against the Marauders, falling 12-2. The loss was the Mules' first of the season.

Alamo Heights saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Wright, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Walnut Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to Mater Dei.

Alamo Heights' loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs over those games. As for Walnut Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
