Soccer Recap: East Wilkes Takes a Loss

The matchup between East Wilkes and Elkin on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cardinals came up short against the Buckin' Elks, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Elkin this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

East Wilkes' goal came courtesy of Sydney Johnson, who's now up to 15 this season.

East Wilkes has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Elkin, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5-3.

As of now, neither East Wilkes nor the Buckin' Elks have any future games scheduled.
