After a string of nine wins, Glenbrook South's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Huntley Red Raiders by a score of 2-1. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Glenbrook South actually scored more points across those three sets (64-60), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 10-25, 25-17.
Ryann Knuth paced Glenbrook South's offense, picking up 12 kills. Knuth got some help from Annie Rosinski and her 30 assists. Finally, Knuth was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Huntley can attribute much of their success to Sophia Tocmo, who had 13 digs and three assists. Tocmo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Maya Mangan also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Glenbrook South's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Huntley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Glenbrook South has already played their next match (against New Trier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Huntley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Prairie Ridge on the 14th.
