Recap: Camden County Bruins vs. Northeastern Eagles
The Camden County Bruins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northeastern. Camden County has not had much luck with Northeastern recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Camden County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xzavior Wiggins. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of J'ron Pendleton, who scored 11 points.
Northeastern was led to victory by EJ Sutton and Sayvion Saunders. Sutton scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Saunders dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Saunders pulled down eight or more rebounds. Tyell Saunders was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Camden County bumped their record down to 5-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Northeastern, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.
Camden County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Louisburg at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Northeastern, they will take on Grassfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
