Baseball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eagle, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Flowing Wells Caballeros 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

John Sunukjian and Noah Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Sunukjian pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Miller struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Sunukjian scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances, while Miller scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is undefeated when Miller posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Lincoln Miller was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. TJ Loftis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Flowing Wells, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will face off against Thatcher at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flowing Wells, they will challenge Nogales at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nogales will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Flowing Wells surely won't give up without a fight.
