Football Recap: Saginaw United Comes Up Short

Saginaw United extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 49-8 loss at the hands of the Davison Cardinals. While losing is never fun, Saginaw United can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Davison is ranked 20th).

JORDAN ALLEN threw for 132 yards and one TD. MEL WASHINGTON was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, JOVELL ROBINSON rushed for 89 yards.

As for Davison, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

Davison was led to victory by Jaxson Dosh and Tyanthony Lewis. Dosh threw for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, while Lewis rushed for 98 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. What's more, Dosh racked up 142.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Saginaw United has already played their next matchup, a 28-6 victory against Central on the 3rd. As for Davison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 57-14 win against East Lansing on the 3rd.
