Baseball Recap: Dover Eagles vs. Northern York Polar Bears

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 8-1 walloping at the hands of the Northern York Polar Bears. Dover was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northern York apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

For Northern York's part, Oskar Dees spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered one run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Ryland Yinger was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with a triple, a stolen base, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Cromer, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Northern York, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dover will take on Susquehannock at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Dover and Susquehannock are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Northern York, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Shippensburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
