Basketball Recap: Danville Comes Up Short

Danville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Normal Community Ironmen. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Ironmen are ranked 30th).

Danville's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Normal Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Coming up, Danville and Marian Catholic will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Marian Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Danville likes a good challenge. As for Normal Community, they and Moline will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a eight-game winning streak alive.
