Basketball Game Preview: North Pike Jaguars vs. Brookhaven Panthers

North Pike hasn't had much luck against Brookhaven recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the North Pike Jaguars duke it out with the Brookhaven Panthers at 6:00 p.m. North Pike is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

North Pike will head into Friday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Provine on Friday. North Pike put the hurt on Provine with a sharp 59-39 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.

North Pike found their leader in sophomore Kadence Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. De'Asia Hudson was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookhaven). They strolled past Provine with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 56-40. The Panthers pushed the score to 48-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams cut but never quite recovered from.

The victory got Brookhaven back to even at 11-11. As for North Pike, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

North Pike strolled past Brookhaven in their previous meeting on January 7th by a score of 49-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Pike since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
