Jefferson put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Musselman Applemen 9-1. Considering the Cougars have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Becca Munslow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Brooke Allen was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Alissa Darr was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Jefferson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Jefferson pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Musselman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
