Softball Preview: Powers Catholic Chargers vs. Hamady Hawks

Powers Catholic has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Hamady Hawks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hamady took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Powers Catholic, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, everything went Powers Catholic's way against Michigan Lutheran Seminary as Powers Catholic made off with a 12-2 victory.

Alexa Glady made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Glady has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Glady was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a home run.

In other batting news, Isabella Dixon was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. Elizabeth Tueber was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Hamady lost 22-4 to Morrice back in April.

Powers Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-23 record this season. As for Hamady, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
