Basketball Recap: Breken Early's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Miami over Follett

Miami was the 36-0 winner over Follett when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Miami Warriors fell to the Follett Panthers 42-38. The Warriors were up 29-15 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Miami's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Breken Early, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Noah Homfeld, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Miami was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Miami now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Follett, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Miami will head out on the road to challenge Fort Elliott at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Follett, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Follett Panthers face off against the Kelton Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Follett's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Kelton has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
