Basketball Recap: Glenn Hills Comes Up Short

Glenn Hills lost against Thomson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Glenn Hills Spartans took an 81-66 bruising from the Thomson Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 215th).

It was another big night for Markevion Jones, who posted 34 points for Thomson. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jer'Meer Hatcher, who scored 15 points.

Glenn Hills' loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Thomson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenn Hills will venture away from home to take on Laney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomson, they will square off against Josey at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
