Basketball Recap: Timberland Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaliah Williams and Kennahdi Murrell

Timberland's tournament run continued when they took on Laurence Manning Academy on Saturday. The Timberland Wolves took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Timberland had strong showings from Kennahdi Murrell, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and three steals, and Kaliah Williams, who put up eight points and five rebounds. Those nine boards gave Murrell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zion Prioleau, who had seven points and eight rebounds.

Timberland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Timberland will head out on the road to take on Lake Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Marion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they will square off against Palmetto Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
