Softball Recap: Cooper Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cooper can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on the Saltillo Lions with a sharp 23-12 win. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Cooper got a massive performance out of Halle Toon, who scored four runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Toon a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyanne Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.

Cooper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cooper's win bumped their record up to 2-4.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Saltillo: the pair will be back at it again later today.
