Volleyball Recap: Chavez Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Chavez's victory against Tokay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Chavez was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (100-93), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 14-25, 15-11.

Chavez was led to victory by Brandon Nonnarath and Teagan Yem. Nonnarath had 25 digs and 11 kills, while Yem had 26 digs and ten kills. Nonnarath is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Vang, who had 19 digs.

Chavez's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Tokay, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Chavez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Bear Creek on the 14th. As for Tokay, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Edison on the 14th.
