Basketball Recap: Ware Shoals Gets the Win

Emerald came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Ware Shoals, but Stella Eichhorn wouldn't allow it. The Hornets breezed past the Vikings to the tune of 55-14 on Thursday with plenty of help from Eichhorn, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 16 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ware Shoals' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Vinson, who posted two points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Ware Shoals now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Emerald, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Ware Shoals has already played their next game (against Saluda), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Emerald, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
