Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Suffolk Christian Academy Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-40 back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bethel Assembly Christian Academy lost, don't look at McKinley Conner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. What's more, Conner also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Caleb Morris was another key player, putting up nine points and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Suffolk Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Ott led the charge by going 7 for 14 en route to 25 points. Ott's evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jason Hernandez, who posted 16 points.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Suffolk Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-24 defeat against New Life Academy on the 31st. As for Suffolk Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-51 loss against Victory Christian on the 31st.
