Baseball Recap: Dunellen Destroyers vs. Keansburg Titans
It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Dunellen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Keansburg Titans. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Dunellen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ryan Hutchins was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over nine innings pitched. Hutchins was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played.
The win got Dunellen back to even at 11-11. As for Keansburg, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Dunellen will head out on the road to challenge New Egypt at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keansburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
