Basketball Recap: East Carteret Comes Up Short

East Carteret lost against Pamlico County two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The East Carteret Mariners lost 61-41 to the Pamlico County Hurricanes. The Mariners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

Pamlico County found their leader in sophomore Sydney Whitley-Reese, who went 9-for-15 en route to 20 points. Whitley-Reese also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 60%. Another player making a difference was Samyiah Maiden, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

East Carteret's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Pamlico County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

As of now, neither East Carteret nor Pamlico County have any future games scheduled.
