Volleyball Recap: Kingdom Christian Takes a Loss

Kingdom Christian was the 2-1 winner over Marion H when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Kingdom Christian lost, don't look at Evie Oglesby. Despite the final result, she had eight kills, seven digs, and three aces. Oglesby has been hot recently, having posted seven or more kills the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Helstad, who had four assists and three aces.

Kingdom Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Marion H, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Kingdom Christian will challenge Grand Lake Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marion H, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kingsway Christian at 3:30 p.m. on the 20th.
