East Jessamine took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Lafayette, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars won by a run and slipped past the Generals 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Generals back in March, they had to take a 17-8 defeat.

Hillary Stansbury spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Smith was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Oliver, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

The win got East Jessamine back to even at 10-10. As for Lafayette, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-4.

Looking ahead, East Jessamine will welcome Bath County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will head out to square off against Henry Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
