Basketball Recap: Wadley Falls Despite Big Games from Bentley Mulkey and A'mya Brown

After flying high against Alabama School for the Deaf last Wednesday, Wadley came back down to earth. The Wadley Bulldogs lost 51-27 to the Handley Tigers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Wadley had strong showings from A'Mya Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, and Bentley Mulkey, who posted 12 points.

Wadley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Handley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wadley will challenge Notasulga at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Handley has already played their next game (against Randolph County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
