Softball Recap: Mercy Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mercy had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers a 5-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Olivia Colebank's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

At the plate, Mercy's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Haley Rupe, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ava Reinhart was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mercy's win bumped their record up to 20-13. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Mercy nor Pleasure Ridge Park have any future games scheduled.
