Football Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short on the Road Against Banning + How To Watch

Notre Dame kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 68-0 defeat at the hands of the Banning Broncos. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Aiden Santana threw for 65 yards on seven of 23 attempts. Ayden Parra was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards.

Banning's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from JACOB ANZALDUA, who threw for 320 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. ANZALDUA is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. KAMARI HORSMAN was another key pass catcher, gaining 171 total yards and two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame will look to defend their home field on Friday against Western Christian at 7:00 p.m. As for Banning, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 28-20 defeat against Redlands on the 28th.
