It was a good run, but Southwestern unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Madison Central Indians an easy 87-62 win. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Southwestern's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Madison Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Jessamine at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Madison Central, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Paul Laurence Dunbar at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
