Softball Game Preview: Groveport-Madison Cruisers vs. Teays Valley Vikings

The Groveport-Madison Cruisers will face off against the Teays Valley Vikings at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Groveport-Madison has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Teays Valley will come in with nine straight wins.

Pickerington Central hit Groveport-Madison with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cruisers lost 11-1 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley got themselves on the board against Reynoldsburg on Monday, but Reynoldsburg never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Raiders. Considering the Vikings have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Teays Valley pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Groveport-Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Groveport-Madison might still be hurting after the 21-3 loss they got from Teays Valley in their previous matchup on April 7th. Can the Cruisers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
