Volleyball Recap: Heritage's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Heritage was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Woodlan on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots came up short against the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

While Heritage had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

Zeke Litchfield paced Heritage's offense, picking up ten kills. Litchfield got some help from Eli Tigulis and his 21 assists. Tigulis also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Graham Simmons, racking up two apiece.

Heritage's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they will face off against East Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
