Recap: Marion Scarlet Hurricanes vs. Virginia High Bearcats
Even though The Marion Scarlet Hurricanes have not done well against the Virginia High Bearcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marion came out on top in a nail-biter against Virginia High and snuck past 22-20. The victory was familiar territory for Marion who now have four in a row.
Ethan Campbell was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. Campbell really tore up the turf during one magnificent 93-yard run.
Marion now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Virginia High, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion will take on Gate City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gate City will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Virginia High, they will head out on the road to face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Union presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Virginia High in Virginia (Union is ranked 73rd, while Virginia High is ranked 253rd).
