Baseball Recap: Frewsburg Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Frewsburg had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They blew past the Brocton Bulldogs 16-5. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by ten runs or more this season.

Frewsburg got a massive performance out of Daniel Peterson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Peterson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Haglund, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Frewsburg's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Brocton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Frewsburg will face off against rival Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.7, the Wolfpack 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Brocton is set to square off against their familiar foe Westfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
