Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Local Comes Up Short

Buckeye Local lost against East Liverpool back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Potters. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-16.

Kylie Watt paced Buckeye Local's offense, picking up five kills. Watt got some help from Samantha Westfall and her ten assists. Karlie Lander controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Liverpool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayla Riggle, who had 17 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Riggle has posted over her last seven matches.

Buckeye Local's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for East Liverpool, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Buckeye Local will head out to take on Beaver Local at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Liverpool, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against The Linsly School on the 20th.
