Softball Game Preview: Electra Tigers vs. Northside Indians

The Electra Tigers will head out to challenge the Northside Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Electra has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northside will be up against a hot Electra team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Tigers' way against Quanah on Friday as they made off with a 36-24 victory. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Genesis Clayton was a standout: she got on base in seven of her eight plate appearances with six runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brenlee Byrd, who got on base in five of her eight plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Electra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Northside came up short against Canadian on Tuesday and fell 6-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Northside's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Electra, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Electra couldn't quite get it done against Northside in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 11-7. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
