Baseball Recap: Irmo Takes a Loss

Irmo lost against River Bluff last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Irmo fell just short of River Bluff by a score of 7-5. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayllen Fray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Elliott Graham was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Irmo's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for River Bluff, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Looking ahead, Irmo will welcome Airport at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Airport will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Irmo surely won't give up without a fight. As for River Bluff, they will head out to square off against Mid-Carolina at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
