Basketball Recap: Newmarket's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Newmarket won the last time they faced Portsmouth Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Newmarket Mules took down the Portsmouth Christian Academy Eagles 58-44. Winning may never get old, but the Mules sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Newmarket pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points over those games. As for Portsmouth Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newmarket will welcome Farmington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Newmarket's defense has only allowed 19.5 points per game this season, so Farmington's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Portsmouth Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mascenic Regional at 7:00 p.m. Mascenic Regional will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Portsmouth Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
