Basketball Recap: Holy Innocents Episcopal Piles Up the Points Against Carver

Holy Innocents Episcopal won the last time they faced Carver and things went their way on Friday too. The Holy Innocents Episcopal Golden Bears really took it to the Carver Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up an 89-43 victory. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Caleb Wilson was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 18 on his way to 29 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Devin Hutcherson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Holy Innocents Episcopal smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Carver's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacory Pickett, who posted seven points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Ferguson, who earned six points.

Holy Innocents Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Carver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Holy Innocents Episcopal has already played their next game, an 86-38 victory against East Hall on the 1st. As for Carver, they will square off against Therrell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Therrell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
