Softball Recap: Smyrna's Undefeated Season over After Ten Games

If Smyrna was feeling good fresh off their 14-0 takedown of North Jackson last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Austin Black Bears by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Having lost for the first time this season, Smyrna fell to 9-1. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9-1 record this season.

Smyrna has already played their next game, a 7-3 defeat against Walker Valley on the 5th. As for Austin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 win against Lincoln County on the 4th.
