Basketball Recap: Harvey Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lakeside last Monday, Harvey came back down to earth. The Harvey Red Raiders were beaten by the Kirtland Hornets 87-59 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 73-60 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Deontae Ware and Armani Hall certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Ware went 9 for 17 on his way to 19 points and eight boards, while Hall posted 16 points. The game was Ware's third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn Turner, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Harvey's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Kirtland, their record is now 13-8.

Coming up, Harvey will look to defend their home court on Saturday against North at 7:00 p.m. As for Kirtland, they will head out to challenge Madison at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
