Volleyball Recap: Anna Morella Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Cherry Creek + How To Watch

Mountain Vista won the last time they faced Cherry Creek and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Golden Eagles had just enough and edged out the Bruins 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Mountain Vista was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 18-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Morella, who had 30 digs. Those 30 digs gave Morella a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brie Bowyer, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Mountain Vista was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Mountain Vista now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cherry Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mountain Vista will head out to take on Cheyenne Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cherry Creek, they will challenge Regis Jesuit at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
