Basketball Game Preview: Silverado Hawks vs. Beaumont Cougars

The Silverado Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Beaumont Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Silverado's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Silverado saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-31 win over Don Lugo.

Meanwhile, Beaumont escaped with a win on Monday against Canyon Springs by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 505th in California, while the Pioneers are ranked 68th in Nevada).

Silverado is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Beaumont, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.

Silverado couldn't quite finish off Beaumont in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 75-73. Can Silverado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
