Volleyball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Piedmont Hills Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Piedmont Hills, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Coming up, Independence is taking a road trip to face off against Hillsdale on Saturday. As for Piedmont Hills, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Evergreen Valley on the 10th.
