Soccer Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Claremont

Claremont's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Bonita Bearcats. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wolfpack's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Bearcats are ranked 40th).

The win got Claremont back to even at 3-3-1. As for Bonita, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Claremont will head out to challenge Glendora at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glendora will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Claremont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bonita, they are taking a road trip to face off against Walnut at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bonita is facing Walnut at the right time seeing as Walnut is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
