Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Central Catholic came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Boston College High Eagles, falling 23-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Central Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Boston College High, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

Coming up, Central Catholic will face off against La Salle Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Boston College High, they will take on St. John's Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. St. John's Prep's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Boston College High's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
