Baseball Game Preview: Sebastian River Sharks vs. Martin County Tigers

Sebastian River is 1-9 against Martin County since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Sebastian River will host Martin County at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sebastian River is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game two weeks ago. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Bayside. That's two games in a row now that the Sharks have lost by just one run.

Noah Duerden was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Martin County and Vero Beach had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Martin County lost 8-1 to Vero Beach on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Martin County also got a good showing from Michael Sanchez, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Martin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stone Preston, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Martin County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Sebastian River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
