Purvis's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the East Central Hornets by a score of 26-16. The win was familiar territory for the Tornadoes, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Purvis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paxton Cooper, who rushed for 74 yards and one score on only ten carries, and also picked up 82 receiving yards. Cooper got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 58 yards. Gabe Franklin was another key rusher, rushing for 114 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

Purvis didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited East Central to a completion percentage of just 26.3%. The team can thank Jeremiah Daniels for the heroic effort on defense: he. Purvis wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Despite the loss, East Central still got an impressive performance from Maddox Dunn, who rushed for 195 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 125 yards on five of 19 attempts. Dunn is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 131 every time he's taken the field this season.

Purvis' record now sits at 4-2. As for East Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
