Softball Game Preview: Conant Cougars vs. Fremd Vikings

Conant hasn't had much luck against Fremd recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cougars will take on the Vikings at 4:45 p.m. Conant is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

On Tuesday, Conant was able to grind out a solid victory over Prospect, taking the game 4-1.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fremd's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hersey on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Conant's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Fremd, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.

Conant couldn't quite finish off Fremd when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
