Volleyball Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Poly Bears

Hillcrest is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Poly is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Trojans will welcome the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hillcrest was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Granite Hills 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since August 18th.

Meanwhile, Poly hadn't done well against King recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wolves.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-19.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Everything went Hillcrest's way against Poly in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Hillcrest made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
