Baseball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Monmouth United Red Storm, falling 27-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Storm this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Saturday.

Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Monmouth United, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoria will face off against Richwoods at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Richwoods has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Monmouth United, they will venture away from home to take on Peoria Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
