It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but McNairy Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hardin County Tigers 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since March 6th.

McNairy Central's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Case Stone, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Stone has posted since back in March. Another was Cooper Davis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for McNairy Central and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Hardin County, they moved to 16-3 with that defeat, which also ended their 16-game winning streak.

McNairy Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
